KDF Youth’s Standout Intern: Grace Choe

KDF Youth’s Standout Intern 🎉

We’re proud to recognize Grace Choe as our Standout Intern for the Spring quarter!

Grace has been an incredible asset to the Kawasaki Disease Foundation’s social media team, bringing her creativity and enthusiasm to content creation that informs, inspires, and uplifts our community. We deeply appreciate her can-do attitude, positive spirit, and genuine excitement to jump in and help wherever she’s needed.

In this Q&A, you’ll get to know more about Grace, her connection to Kawasaki Disease, and the heart behind her work with KDF:

Q. Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you first got connected to the Kawasaki Disease Foundation?
A.  Hi! My name is Grace, and I’m a high school sophomore living in Northern California. I first connected to the Kawasaki Disease Foundation after being curious about KD and wanting to learn more. As I started researching online, KDF stood out, and I knew I wanted to help in any way I could.

Q. What inspired you to get involved as a KDF intern, and what has your volunteer work focused on?
A. I was diagnosed with KD when I was 2 years old, and later my sister was affected. That personal connection made me eager to raise awareness, because it can be hard to recognize, and early treatment is crucial. As a KDF intern, my volunteer work has been focused on creating social media content on the KDFYouth Instagram, which plays a large role in spreading awareness.

Q. What’s been the most meaningful part of volunteering with KDF so far?
A. The most meaningful part of volunteering with the KDF, especially with the KDFYouth Intern team, has been meeting and working with many wonderful individuals who have the same goal in mind. It’s very inspiring to be part of a team with many dedicated and supportive people.

Q. If you could share one message with other young people affected by KD or looking to get involved, what would it be?
A. To young people affected by KD: You are not alone, and you are so strong. There is a whole community that is supportive and rooting for you and your journey ❤️

Q. Just for fun—what’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
A. Some people might be surprised to learn that I have a playlist for everything, including eating my favorite yogurt bowl!

Thank you, Grace, for all that you’ve contributed to KDF Youth—we’re so lucky to have you on our team! Your creativity and positivity have made a lasting impact!
